3 Game Changing Tips To Win More Tennis Matches
In this video, we share three game-changing tips that you can instantly apply to win more tennis matches. There are numerous strategies to enhance your performance on the court, and the first tip we discuss is how to gain more effortless power. Increasing your shot power will reduce your opponent's reaction time and help you hit more winners. One of the key ways to generate more power is through the timing of your shot. Building momentum in your backswing is crucial for accelerating aggressively into the forward swing. If you rush your backswing, you won't store as much energy, resulting in less force when you strike the ball.
Next, we focus on the drop shot and emphasize the importance of overcommitting rather than undercommitting. Many players tend to undercommit on the drop shot, often resulting in the ball not clearing the net. By overcommitting, even if the shot isn't as short as intended, you at least force your opponent to play another shot, increasing the chance they might make an error. Minimizing unforced errors is key to winning more matches.
The final tip in this video is about the serve, specifically the kick serve. We discuss three essential elements. First, adjusting the placement of the back foot to stay more side-on, which helps you brush up the back of the ball better. Second, experimenting with the grip, potentially moving towards an Eastern backhand grip to generate more spin. Finally, adding more acceleration is crucial for a powerful kick serve.
Incorporate these tips into your game, and you'll start winning more tennis matches. Guaranteed!

Incredibly thoughtful and succinct demonstration of kick serve drills. At 1:40, where you describe how the kick serve is the inversion of the "side spin drill," this really hits the point home. In my many years playing tennis, I've never seen it described in this way and it really resonates with me. Bravo!

Kick serve will only going to be effective if you can serve it wide and make your opponent go far away to return, so that you can either come to the net or use the open space to hit a winner (esp in singles). If you serve it in the centre or the T, it ll be not of much benefit other than keeping the ball inside the service box!

@@SupremeTennis I've been doing that 7-1 for a while and still can't get that left to right kick... I've been teaching tennis part time for a long time ... and yet still can't. I have plenty of topspin (when I want to) and yet... I even tried the follow through with the serving arm elbow up and the forearrm dropping out to the right and across the baseline. Anyways ... I'm still trying. I even tried 8-2...blah blah blah . Still experimenting... but I love the ones that have a nice kick to the right that you have. I'm still a pretty good (5.0) player and I've seen some lower level players have some nastly kickers (it almost sounds like a missed hit too .. especially the lefties). Thank you for your replied ... and a good video.

I don't actually think you want to use your wrist like that to generate spin. The concept is right, but I find it better to use bigger muscles like triceps and lats to produce the brushing motion so that the wrist joint can remain in a stronger position. This also frees up the wrist to pronate comfortably, which it can't really do while it's deviating like that. That's just what I have found experimenting with every possible way to hit it for hundreds of hours.

You are 100% right not like this. Motion vise you do it like 1st serve, only difference is wont let your forearm open at the end. Swing direction allmost along baseline, contact timing earlier pointing upwards. Wrist will naturally pivot on top of the service motion, it whips! I used to destroy my wrist in long service practice sessions. Dont make the same mistake.
