3 Game Changing Tips To Win More Tennis Matches
In this video, we share three game-changing tips that you can instantly apply to win more tennis matches. There are numerous strategies to enhance your performance on the court, and the first tip we discuss is how to gain more effortless power. Increasing your shot power will reduce your opponent's reaction time and help you hit more winners. One of the key ways to generate more power is through the timing of your shot. Building momentum in your backswing is crucial for accelerating aggressively into the forward swing. If you rush your backswing, you won't store as much energy, resulting in less force when you strike the ball.
Next, we focus on the drop shot and emphasize the importance of overcommitting rather than undercommitting. Many players tend to undercommit on the drop shot, often resulting in the ball not clearing the net. By overcommitting, even if the shot isn't as short as intended, you at least force your opponent to play another shot, increasing the chance they might make an error. Minimizing unforced errors is key to winning more matches.
The final tip in this video is about the serve, specifically the kick serve. We discuss three essential elements. First, adjusting the placement of the back foot to stay more side-on, which helps you brush up the back of the ball better. Second, experimenting with the grip, potentially moving towards an Eastern backhand grip to generate more spin. Finally, adding more acceleration is crucial for a powerful kick serve.
Incorporate these tips into your game, and you'll start winning more tennis matches. Guaranteed!

Has the COVID-19/Lockdown Pandemic Ruined Your Game? 7 Tennis Tips to Quickly Get Your Form Back
Incredibly thoughtful and succinct demonstration of kick serve drills. At 1:40, where you describe how the kick serve is the inversion of the "side spin drill," this really hits the point home. In my many years playing tennis, I've never seen it described in this way and it really resonates with me. Bravo!
Glad this helped! Appreciate the comment 👍
Kick serve will only going to be effective if you can serve it wide and make your opponent go far away to return, so that you can either come to the net or use the open space to hit a winner (esp in singles). If you serve it in the centre or the T, it ll be not of much benefit other than keeping the ball inside the service box!
Very nice 👍🏻
Thank you 🙏
Great video. Simple tips but very useful
Thank you 🙏
What an amazing video! Super helpful.
Thank you! 🙏
Nicely done. Ty very much
Thank you too!
very useful thanks
You’re welcome 👍
His body rotation is just off...its like twisting too much or something
I’ll let him know 😉
You should redo this tip with the necessary footwork. I find, for whatever reason, the footwork for getting into the right position for the backhand (single arm) much harder. Would love to see what you’d recommend for practicing that.
I’ll do it very soon 👍
Brilliant, thank you. I just saw the footwork vid with Sienna, that’s a great lesson. Cheers.
Well done. Great lesson with excellent presentation. Cheers.
My pleasure 🙏
I put plenty of spin on my serve but can't seem to have the ball move to the right; I just want to know 8 - 2? or 8 - 3?
Try 7-1. The more you go from 8, the higher the chance of a slice serve.
@@SupremeTennis I've been doing that 7-1 for a while and still can't get that left to right kick... I've been teaching tennis part time for a long time ... and yet still can't. I have plenty of topspin (when I want to) and yet... I even tried the follow through with the serving arm elbow up and the forearrm dropping out to the right and across the baseline. Anyways ... I'm still trying. I even tried 8-2...blah blah blah . Still experimenting... but I love the ones that have a nice kick to the right that you have. I'm still a pretty good (5.0) player and I've seen some lower level players have some nastly kickers (it almost sounds like a missed hit too .. especially the lefties). Thank you for your replied ... and a good video.
Great progression. Thank you!
You’re welcome! 🙏
nice clean technic, he should only not following the ball too early, better keep the head for some miliseconds at the contact zone
Good point 👍
Will try the different grips you recommend for a kick serve, thanks for the tip!
You’re welcome!
you hitting slice all that lesson. in the end you can clearly see it by the bounce path.
You think so?
Many thanks
Pleasure 🙏
Ah yes - down the alley Maida Vale thanks
Played there before?

tks for this advanced tennis session. looking for more videos like this from you.

brilliant video, really helpful, thank you 🎾
Thank you 🙏
Great exercises!
Thank you 👍
Great video. Thank you for sharing with us❤
No problem! Do you play regularly?
Many thanks, any chance you can do a slice service tutorial ?
Pleasure! Yep, definitely will at some point 👍
if i go 50-60 percent in practice will that affect match play percentage in when i need to go 70-80%?
Definitely not. When practicing your serve alone, you can definitely throw in a few at 100%. I was more just making a point of not doing that the whole time 👍 Good question.
Literally just booked a court to try out this serve routine 🔥
👍
Good job!
Outstanding! Thanks for sharing!
My pleasure!
This is a great routine I can use for practicing my serve! Thank you!!
@user-wi4ne6ho8y pleasure!
Love how you break down the swing into smaller, understandable parts. Thank you!
Thank you. Are you a beginner yourself?
Beautiful back hand
👍
howcome i did not see the difference ? 😂😂😂
This video is a gem, especially the ball toss drill. Thanks so much 👍
My pleasure. Let us know how you get on 👍
@@SupremeTennis Sure thing. Thanks
Terrific! Very good video! Could you do one for the high, over the shoulder shot (back to net)
Need to practice that one myself. Not sure I can pull it off 😅
Training for a good tweener is a complete waste of time. I'm gonna try it! 😂
One day, you’ll nail the most epic tweener for a match winning point, just when everything’s on the line! And in that moment, you’ll think back to this very moment, knowing you were always destined for greatness! 😂
The best teaching methodology and progression I have ever seen. Thank you for posting this video.
Thank you 🙏
You both hit a tweener well! It’s a difficult shot!!
👍
Great video! Tweeners are difficult to hit well!
They definitely are!
I don't actually think you want to use your wrist like that to generate spin. The concept is right, but I find it better to use bigger muscles like triceps and lats to produce the brushing motion so that the wrist joint can remain in a stronger position. This also frees up the wrist to pronate comfortably, which it can't really do while it's deviating like that. That's just what I have found experimenting with every possible way to hit it for hundreds of hours.
Fully agree - important for avoiding injury
You are 100% right not like this. Motion vise you do it like 1st serve, only difference is wont let your forearm open at the end. Swing direction allmost along baseline, contact timing earlier pointing upwards. Wrist will naturally pivot on top of the service motion, it whips! I used to destroy my wrist in long service practice sessions. Dont make the same mistake.
Excellent detail! Keep up the great videos!
Thank you 🙏
wow! what power - what is his gym routine
😂
Awesome!

This guy hits like a pro. I don't see a clear difference.
A clear difference? Thanks for the comment
Thanks a lot. I recognise myself in all of this.

I'm assuming Kuki isn't your average or even high level club player? His forehand is clearly a pretty high level. It wouldn't surprise me if he's high level county at minimum based off his forehand. Some great hitting there👍
You got it. County level
@@SupremeTennis I thought so. Is he playing British Tour events? He looks good enough to compete in them.
Mainly grade 2 and 3. Good enough to play British tour now I’d say. He’s studying at the moment, so not as much time to compete. But looks to enter some tournaments this summer with more free time on his hands. Sounds like you know the LTA system. Are you from the UK?
@@SupremeTennis yeah, he looks like he could hang easily at grade 2 maybe even have a crack at Futures qualies. Yeah I'm from Surrey and I'm a senior and played many grade 4/3's and senior ITF's over the years. However I'm certainly not close to Kuki's level😂👍 I't looks like you're coaching at the Connaught club?
@grantdelmege2724 that’s cool! You must play at a decent level then. I work at Paddington sports club in Maida Vale. This is where I filmed the video. I’m between here and David Lloyd Finchley
Cookie seems to be moving his head a bit on contact.
